Syntony / The company

Meet Syntony.
See how we work.

Syntony evaluates advanced systems and helps organizations govern their use. We combine technical testing, research and engineering with practical decisions about controls and responsibility.

01 / Why Syntony

SYNTONY / ADVANCED SYSTEMS

We test how systems behave.
We help the people responsible act on the results.

AI is our main focus. We also work on questions involving robots, quantum systems, networks, scientific instruments and related infrastructure. We examine the system, its dependencies and the way people use it.

Our current work supports frontier labs, enterprises, universities, governments and international organizations with evaluation, governance and assurance for advanced systems.

Syntony takes its name from resonance: distinct systems connected by a meaningful relationship.

We choose the team and methods around the question you need answered. Before work begins, we agree the scope, responsibilities, potential conflicts of interest and publication terms.

01 / PRINCIPLE

Test the system in context.

Tools, people, permissions and physical conditions can change a result. We include them in the test where they matter.

02 / PRINCIPLE

Make the finding useful.

Explain what failed, what should change and which test would check the response.

03 / PRINCIPLE

Check again after changes.

A test result applies to particular conditions. We revisit it when the system or its use changes.
